The Tapestry of Terror
The Irons Manse
The Irons Manse is a large three and a 1/2 story home on 100 acres of pristine farmland. The layout of the house is unique and the manse is over 200 years old, and the ancestral home of the Irons family since the Major had it constructed in 1811. The farmland was bought by Major Irons from the Ho-Chunk Tribe for $100 after the end of the Revolutionary War, nearly ten times the going rate. He retired to it in early 1810, and the house was finished in late autumn of 1811, although individuals claim to have seen entire crews of workmen there as late as 1829.
